Insular Project (Leicester University)

アングロ・サクソンおよびアイルランドの写本研究

Insular Projectは、レスター大学のJoanna Story (Professor, Early Medieval History at the University of Leicester)を代表とするイギリスおよびアイルランドの初期の中世写本に関する研究のプロジェクトで、2024年に大きな研究費を獲得しました。今後、研究が大きく前進することが期待できます。デジタル技術の活用や各分野の研究者の協働による幅広い視点から、アングロサクソンおよびアイルランドの写本文化を再検討、再構築する試みです。

近年、海外では写本に関する大きなプロジェクトが次々に展開しています。研究は、個人によるものとグループによるものの組み合わせが必要だと思いますが、規模感の大きな研究は、多方面に活用できる拡張性のある成果を残すことができる場合が多いので、今後その価値がますます高まっていくように感じます。
